Concordance Academy of Leadership The history of the place/group--how long it’s been around, who started it, and why? Concordance was started by former Wells Fargo CEO, Danny Ludeman in 2013 with hopes to reduce the recidivism rate and help families stay out of prison. Mr. Ludeman essentially combined with Project COPE. A company that provided transitional housing for ex-offenders.  (Front desk) The goals/mission/purpose of the place/group The mission of this organization is to stop the revolving door of offenders returning back to incarceration. This video covers his life after prison and the struggles he's faced in society. Stereotypes of ex-convicts have affected Lamont greatly. In the video, you will find that finding a job is one of the biggest things Lamont struggles achieve. I believe Lamont made this video for two reasons. Blog Post #1 1) The microculture I have chosen to study is ex-convicts. I chose this group because I am interested to learn more about what life after prison entails, as well as what prejudices and or stereotypes ex convicts face when trying to get back on their feet. 2) To gather information, I plan to interview 1 friend and 1 sibling I know who unfortunately had to do time for the crimes that they committed. 3) To experience the culture I feel may be tough. I don't believe prisons just let people come in and tour. As a substitute, I may watch multiple videos about prison life that also include interviews from inmates. 4) I believe America's general stereotypes of ex-convicts are that they are unskilled, dangerous people who are up to no good. I also believe some American's think if you go to prison it automatically means you killed someone. We don't account for other things someone can be sent to prison for.
